Yes! NoBrainner works as a high-performance Progressive Web App (PWA) installable in 1-click on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows with full offline support. Dedicated native app store builds are also currently in active development.

Can I create decks with ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini?

Beyond importing Anki (.apkg) and Quizlet sets, you can generate cards from your notes with ChatGPT/Claude via our built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP), or build cards manually with integrated image search and instant voice generation.

How does Video Practice with dual subtitles work?

When practicing words or phrases, Video Practice pulls authentic YouTube clips with synchronized bilingual subtitles side-by-side (target and native language), allowing you to listen and compare natural speech in context.

Plain-language information about how NoBrainner handles study data, deck uploads, automatic language selection, sharing, cookies, and support.

Data we collect

Account data such as email address, authentication identifiers, profile information, and role/access fields.
Study data such as decks in your account, card states, review logs, streaks, progress, settings, and sync metadata.
Uploaded deck files, prepared deck data, card media, generated audio, images, and metadata needed to make study work across devices.
Technical data such as device/browser information, IP address or approximate region in logs/provider systems, browser language, timezone, app events, error logs, performance data, and analytics events.
Notification tokens, consent choices, language preferences, Pro/access status, and support messages when you use those features.

Deck uploads and Anki/privacy responsibilities

Only upload decks and media you have the right to use. Some Anki decks may contain copyrighted, private, sensitive, or third-party material.
When you upload an .apkg or create a deck, NoBrainner processes and stores the content so you can study it and sync it across devices.
Deck text may be sent to service providers, including Google Text-to-Speech, when you choose generated audio or human voices.
Private decks stay associated with your user account unless you choose to share, export, or otherwise disclose them.
If a deck contains personal data about someone else, you are responsible for having a lawful reason and permission to upload or share it.

Sharing decks

Shared deck links or codes can make deck content and media available to anyone who receives access to that link or code.
Do not share decks that include private information, copyrighted content you cannot redistribute, paid course material, or sensitive data unless you have permission.
If you import a shared deck, that copy may be stored under your account so you can study it.

How we use data

To provide account login, deck import/creation, review scheduling, sync, media playback, generated audio, sharing, and support.
To automatically choose a friendly default language, manage Pro-only features, deliver optional reminders, and enforce usage or safety limits.
To keep caches and offline data working while using server data as the source of truth when online.
To secure the service, troubleshoot bugs, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and product quality.

Storage, sync, and deletion

Decks and study progress may be stored in cloud databases/storage and local browser storage on your devices.
Generated audio may be cached so repeated text does not need to be regenerated, which keeps the service faster and less expensive.
Deleting a deck should remove the deck from your account and queued local/cloud references, but backups, logs, or already-shared/imported copies may persist for a limited time or under another user account.
Clearing browser storage can remove local/offline copies on that device, but it does not automatically delete cloud account data.

Tatoeba example phrases

When you use example phrases, NoBrainner may request sentence pairs, translations, attribution, license, and audio metadata from Tatoeba (https://tatoeba.org).
We cache text example results in our database to reduce repeated requests, improve speed, and avoid unnecessary load on Tatoeba.
If you tap a Tatoeba audio button, the audio may load directly from Tatoeba in your browser rather than from NoBrainner storage.
Tatoeba content is community-contributed and may contain mistakes, unusual wording, or material that does not fit every learner or context.

Data protection

We use access controls, Firebase security rules, authentication, and operational safeguards designed to keep user data separated and protected.
No online service can promise perfect security, so avoid uploading decks that contain highly sensitive personal, medical, financial, or confidential information.

Payments and Stripe security

When you upgrade to NoBrainner Pro, your payment details are processed directly by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Payments are subject to the Stripe Privacy Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy) and Stripe Terms of Service (https://stripe.com/legal/end-users).
NoBrainner does not store, see, or process your credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank details on our servers; all transactions are encrypted and secured by Stripe.
We only receive and store basic billing metadata from Stripe, such as customer identifiers, subscription IDs, plan price IDs, and payment status, which are used to authorize your Pro access.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI Integrations

When you connect a third-party AI assistant (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Windsurf, or VS Code) to your NoBrainner account via Remote MCP, your authorized client can access your study statistics, streaks, deck lists, and cards.
Creating and saving flashcard decks via MCP requires explicit confirmation before items are persisted to your account.
NoBrainner does not sell your personal study data, review history, or private flashcard decks to third parties, nor do we use your private study material to train public AI models without your consent.
You can disconnect AI assistants and invalidate connection tokens anytime from your NoBrainner profile settings or at /chatgpt/connect.

Your choices

You can manage decks, profile data, settings, and local browser data through the app or browser controls.
You can contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of account data.

How we use cookies and similar storage

NoBrainner uses local storage and IndexedDB to keep the app fast, remember language/settings, support offline study, and avoid redownloading deck media.
For new visitors, NoBrainner may use browser language, timezone, approximate region, or IP-derived region signals available from hosting/analytics/security systems to choose a default interface language.
Authentication providers may use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in and protect account security.
We may use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics to understand usage, diagnose issues, and improve the product.

Analytics data

Analytics may include device/browser information, approximate region, pages or screens viewed, feature usage, and performance/error signals.
Analytics is used to improve NoBrainner, not to sell your deck content.
You can limit analytics through browser settings, ad/analytics controls, or privacy tools where available.
